Bonarda Novecento is our contribution to the Bonarda project developed by Distretto del Vino di Qualità dell’Oltrepò Pavese to promote the most popular wine of the Oltrepò Pavese hills.
This Bonarda is an homage to our grandfather Ezio, born in 1904 and totally committed to the 20th century ethos of hard work and sacrifice.
It’s produced with Croatina grapes only, picked up when fully ripe in a low-yield vineyard perched on the slope of a hill that overlooks our winery.
After a 20-day maceration with the skins, the juice ages in stainless-steel vats for some months. A second fermentation in autoclave in early spring produces its natural bubbles.
A rich and powerful wine, it offers inviting notes of red berries on the nose and a round palate where a bit of residual sugar balances the signature tannins of Croatina.
It pairs perfectly with a platter of salumi or meat-stuffed pasta. To be served at 18 °C.
